A Brief Bio or Personal Summary

I am a Seattle-based cartoonist and graduate from the Center for Cartoon Studies. I have always had a love the underground comics of the 70s and try to keep the same spirit alive in my self published short story anthology Grump Toast. I've had my art appear in the Stranger, Seattle Weekly and Seattle Cinerama. I am also a founding member of the Seattle comic newspaper Intruder. I have also interned at Fantagraphics for almost 2 years. I work a full time job to make ends meet and draw comics every chance I get.

Influences & Inspirations

Charles Burns, Jason Lutes, Zap, Hate, Pete Bagge, Steve Bissette, Maus, Raw, Ernie Bushmiller, Nancy, Real Stuff, Love & Rockets, Tales from The Crypt, Marc Bell, Ed Piskor, Josh Simmons, Fantagraphics, Eric Reynolds, and the Center For Cartoon Studies (I would be where I am without them).

What are you currently working on?

I'm currently working on the 5th issue of my self published short story anthology Grump Toast. My long term goal would be to turn Grump Toast into a graphic novel length collection. I'm also working on my ongoing series Bullhook Aley in the Intruder comic newspaper. Besides these two projects I have work being submitted for numerous Anthologies such as Irene and Josh Simmon's Habit.

Why should people vote for you?

I feel that people should vote for me because comics and Seattle are my passion. Ever since I was able to hold a pencil I've been drawing and drawing and drawing. Seattle has been and will always be my home. I feel very blessed to live in such a comic heavy city and surrounded by such an awesome and unique community of cartoonists.
