A Brief Bio or Personal Summary

As a child I grew up between London and Washington DC. My dad is English and my mom is African American. Because of this, I was raised without the constraints of loyalty to one place or people. I've wandered Europe, Canada and Japan accumulating lots of different experiences. I woven them all together into a braid that I want to share. I have a story about the possibility of a new kind of future and way of life. I also have a varied background in web design, graphic design, and interior design, but unfortunately I've always been stuck in high end sales jobs my whole life. It's time for a change.

Influences & Inspirations

My earliest influences in the comics world were Frank Miller, The Dark Knight, and various Grant Morrison comics. I also love certain Manga, Jodorowsky, Garth Ennis, Brian K. Vaughn, David Mack and a host of others. I love reading non-fiction from history to physics. Paul Laffoley, Alex Jones, Stefan Molyneux, Terence Mckenna, William Gibson, Carl Sagan are also some of my non comic book influences. The culture of aesthetics in Japan has definitely shaped my art. I draw a lot of inspiration from people who I call the 'falling stars' of society, people who struggle and live for their art without the promise of fame or fortune. Bicycling is a huge passion of mine and if I can combine it with my art then I am a healthy, happy human being.

What are you currently working on?

I have been working on a script for a graphic novel for over 10 years. I am all but ready to finally start illustrating it. This past Autumn, I began a series of paintings to catalyze the process. Even though all my submissions are paintings, I am actually an illustrator by nature. These canvases are examples of how I would incorporate full color, detailed paintings as splash pages, bio's, and backgrounds inside my graphic novel. This contest caught me off guard; I don't have recent 'comic' book illustrations to share.

Why should people vote for you?

I have always been drawing and painting here and there. But I have never had the time to commit fully to working on my graphic novel as if it was my full time job. If people like my art then I can promise the graphic novel would blow their minds, artistically and philosophically. And if they voted for me then I could finally afford to work part-time in my current job and then be able to follow my life's dream and produce the first 48 page chapter of my story. It's not about superheroes in spandex. It's about a group of bicyclists who meet the world's first quantum AI on the verge of a planetary catastrophe. It's action packed, fun, anarchistic, and mind expanding. If people liked it then I'd keep going and never look back! There are a lot of things contributing to our cult! ure's decline and I want to show people beautiful art and an epic story to show a different way of life! Please vote for me! Thank you
